Supporting organizations that serve
seniors in Northeast Indiana

Council on Senior Services (COSS) is proud to provide annual grants to local organizations offering meaningful programs and services for seniors in Northeast Indiana.

Grant funding is intended to support work that aligns with the COSS mission:
To promote services and benefits available to seniors in Northeast Indiana through a network of individuals and organizations, catering to the elderly.

COSS grant requests should reflect the purpose of the Council and support efforts that:

  • Provide education and awareness

  • Share information and resources

  • Support advocacy for seniors

  • Strengthen local services through a grassroots approach

Grant Award Details

COSS awards a maximum total amount annually through the grant process. The amount requested by an applicant—and the maximum award per organization—are not guaranteed. Final award decisions and award amounts are determined by the COSS Board of Directors.

Grant Reporting Requirement

To remain eligible for future grant opportunities, recipients must submit a written evaluation report to the COSS Board of Directors by May 1 following the award.

Grant recipients will also have an opportunity to provide an oral report to the general COSS membership during the May meeting.

Past Grant Recipients

COSS has awarded grants to multiple organizations benefiting the maturing population of Northeast Indiana. In 2023, COSS awarded $16,475, with a key focus on agencies providing meals and food support to seniors.

Funds for grants are generated through COSS membership dues and advertising sales in the COSS Senior Resource Guide.
